College Rising Company (“College Rising”, “us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the College Rising platform, which includes this website (the “Service”). We operate this site in conjunction with our partners (Business and other organizations) who manage the day to day operation of their respective site (our “Partners”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. We use your Personal Information for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information under this policy. 2. Objective and Scope

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we use and protect the Personal Information (defined below) of the users/members/creators/sponsors/partners of our College Rising Platform. This Privacy Policy describes the usage of information provided or collected through sites and applications, where this Privacy Policy is posted (“Platform”) and affiliate or third-party sites/platforms through which the Platform and/or any of its features and/or services available on the Platform may be provided.  We follow this Privacy Policy under applicable law in the places where we operate. In some cases, we may provide additional Privacy Policies specific to certain features or services. Those notices are to be read in combination with this Privacy Policy. Please also keep in observance that our platform may contain links to other sites not owned or controlled by us and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

3. Personal Information We Collect.

When we refer to ‘Personal Information’ we mean any information related to a particular individual who we identify (whether directly or indirectly) a particular individual or natural person. This includes direct identifiers such as your name, postal address, email address, mobile number, life experience application, and also includes all other information which is linked to that information such as your profile information, etc or other media called Views which outline your interests that you provide publicly and any public posted questions and answers.

3.1 Contact information. For example, we may collect your name and email address. We may also collect your street address, or phone numbers and other information linked to your profile.

3.2 Demographic information. For example, we may collect your age, interests, academic information, and other search preferences.

3.3 Information you share or post on our website.  This includes content you may post, and information you share with us through application or sign up. We may ask for and you may choose to provide the below information, which may include Personal Information when you use or register on College Rising Platform/Service and create an account and use any of the features or services available on the Platform or contact us directly:

• Name

• Email Address

• Phone Number

• Age or Date of Birth

• Username

• Password

• Life Experience information related to our core values of LIFE. 

• Certain Educational History about classes, program and teachers and classmates. 

• Certain Work History about industry, place, business and employer

• Certain Residence History such as roommates, housing address, agent, manager or landlord

• Certain Extra Curricular History such as other organizations, sports or memberships you would like to include, links and titles. 

• Questions an Answers you provide while using our College Rising Platform/Service which includes your name, username, profile link, and other video content you choose to provide including your likeness

3.4 Other Information. If you use our websites, we may collect information about the browser you are using. Our web server may store your IP address and domain. We might track the pages you visit. We might look at what site you came from, or what site you visit when you leave us. We collect this information using tracking tools described in this policy. To control those tools, please read the “Your Controls and Choices” section.

How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from you.  For example, we collect information when you register.  We also collect information if you post content or use the “Filter views” and “Select Category” functions on our College Rising Platform/Website.  We collect information if you take surveys or participate in promotions or online forums. We also collect information if you ask us questions or sign up for our emails.

4.1 We collect information from you passively. We use tracking tools like browser cookies, customer data, usage data, device data, referral data, and information from tags, to manage and improve our services, to serve and support our customers and Partners (Business or other organizations), for research purposes, and for other various services described in this privacy policy. 4.2. Information we collect through third party sources.

We may obtain your Personal Information from other sources. If you choose to link, connect, or log in to our Platform using a social media platform like Facebook, LinkedIn or Google the social media platform may send us your profile and social information such as Email, Name, and other profile data provided by the social media platform.

4.3 Information we collect via Personal Communication Using the College Rising Platform.

We collect information about you when you send, receive, or engage with messages in connection with our Services. For example, the main purpose of the College Rising platform is to communicate with other members, creators, sponsors and partners on the platform. When connecting with an individual using the Service, you may be exchanging personal information with that individual, such as email or phone numbers. The content of communications on College Rising is stored by College Rising. College Rising and our Partners reserve the right to screen the content of communications on the platform to improve the Service and prevent spam and abuse.

4.4 Information we collect automatically.

We and our third party service providers, including analytics providers such as Google Analytics,  may automatically collect certain information when you visit our site or use our Services. This may include:

• Some technical information about how you use College Rising, for example the type of device you are using, your operating system, IP address, and length of session.

• Basic application usage data, including a timestamped log of videos created and length of videos recorded.

• Information about what pages you view within our site, how you arrived at our site and some basic information about your computer or device. The information we collect from analytics helps us understand what parts of our sites are doing well, and which need changing. Like most websites, we use this information to improve our customer experience. Please see here how Google uses data. You can also opt out if you wish.

4.5 Other Information we collect automatically

• Referral data. If you arrive at a College Rising Platform from an external source (such as a link on another website or in an email), we record information about the source that referred you to us.

• Form responses. We collect and store the form responses that you submit, in some cases using third party server providers like Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud, on behalf of our Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partners. The form creator or other online storage providers with College Rising, are not responsible for this data. All Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partners are responsible for any content they create and post or contribute to the facilitation and use of our Platform. A form may ask you to provide personal information or data. If you have any questions about a form which College Rising or any Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partner forms which you gain access to, please contact the form creator directly, since College Rising is not responsible for the content of that form. The form creator or other Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partner may have their own privacy policy and website terms of use. 

Are your form responses anonymous?
You will need to ask the form creator as it depends on how the individual, company or organization has chosen to configure the form(s). We provide information to form creators on how they can collect responses anonymously. However, even if a form creator has followed those steps, specific questions in the form may still ask you for your personal information or data that could be used to identify you.

• Screencastify and other multimedia responses.
  We collect certain communications from video responses which you authorize College Rising to publicly use whenever your name or likeness is broadcasted publicly through use of this Platform or Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partners affiliated with content you are providing.  We also reserve the right to edit, manipulate or remove your multimedia or other video responses upon request or which are prohibited by our privacy policy or website terms of use. You can email support@collegrising.com or to the Platform Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partners which we do not manage or control. 

4.6 We collect information that we obtain from third parties.

How We Use Information

5.0 To respond to your questions, responses or requests. For example, if you ask us a question or provide a response.  

5.1 To improve our website and update our email lists. For example, we might conduct surveys or engage in other activities to understand our visitors, Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partners.  We might also use information to improve our products and services.  This also includes looking at site usage trends.  We may also use information to customize your browsing and experience. 

5.2 To communicate with you about our relationship. For example, we might use your contact information to tell you about changes to this Policy or our Website Terms.

5.3 For our legitimate business purposes.  We may combine information that we receive about you from third parties with information we already have.

5.4 To promote College Rising. For example, we use information to send notices of special promotions, events or other offers.  We might also send you notices about educational or employment opportunities we think might be interesting to you.  Other examples include to notify you of new website features or product offerings.  If you want to manage your communications, follow the instructions in Your Control and Choices, below.

When We Share Information

6.0 We may share your information for our business purposes and as legally permitted, including:

6.1 Information/Disclosure Statement. We will not share your information with anyone except as described in this section and other sections of this Privacy Policy. Please read it carefully. 

6.2 Service Providers. We provide Personal Information to our contracted vendors and other trusted businesses or persons to process it for us (who are involved in the direct delivery of services to you (such as email or SMS providers), based on our instructions and in compliance with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

6.2 Legal. If we think we have to in order to comply with the law.  For example, we will share information to respond to a court order or subpoena.  We may also share if a government agency requests. We may also share if an investigatory body requests. In the event College Rising is merged with or acquired by another company or in case of reorganization or restructuring of the business, we and our affiliates may share your Personal Information, wholly or in part, with another business entity. 

6.3 With third parties who perform services on our behalf. For example, we share information with vendors. We may also authorize them to collect information on our behalf.  Some vendors may be located outside of the United States.

6.4 With our business partners. If we provide joint services, we share information with Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partners  which may also share information with us. 

6.5 To protect our company.  For example, we will disclose information if we suspect fraud.  We will also share information as part of an investigation.

Your Controls and Choices

7.0. Your Controls and Choices. We provide you the ability to exercise certain controls and choices regarding our collection, use, and sharing of your Personal Information. Under applicable law, your controls and choices may include:

7.1 Managing Your Information. You can access some of your Personal Information through the ‘My Profile’ or "Profile" section of your application or other identity url or application link the Platform provides. If such log in is not available, you may access your public profile and edit directly. You are responsible for providing us with your accurate Personal Information and keeping your Personal Information up-to-date. You may also request your account to be deleted by visiting the ‘My Preferences’ section of your account, or any data you wish to delete that was not posted publicly by emailing support@collegerising.com.  Any data you no longer wish to list on College Rising Platform/Website or if such preferences (‘My Preferences’) are not available, you may edit and delete directly from our Platform/Website or email support@collegerising.com. 

7.2 Rectification of Inaccurate or Incomplete Information

You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete Personal Information concerning you by sending us an email to our support email address (support@collegerising.com) or by contacting the Platform Members, Creators, Sponsors or Partner who is affiliated with creating your profile. 

7.3 Opting out of College Rising emails. You can opt out of receiving marketing emails by following the instructions in any marketing emails you receive. You can also opt-out by sending us an email to support@collegerising.com. To request changes to or to review your information, please send us an email to support@collegerising.com. You may also email support@collegerising.com to have your personal information deleted which was not publicly posted. 

7.4 Data Access and Portability

In some jurisdictions, applicable law may entitle you to request copies of your Personal Information held by us. You may also be entitled to request copies of Personal Information that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and/or request us to transmit this information to another service provider (where technically feasible). You can issue such a request by contacting us via the provided support email (support@collegerising.com) or by contacting Platform Members, Creators, Sponsors or Partners who created Personal Information on behalf of you or for you. 

7.5 You can choose not to provide certain personal information. However if you don’t provide us with information some website features may not work.  You can also choose to configure browser not to accept cookies. If you do so, however, some parts of our website may not work or be accessible.

7.6 Withdrawing Consent and Restriction of Processing. For data that we collect, and process based on permissions or consent obtained from you, you may withdraw your consent at any time to receive marketing or promotional communications at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link found within College Rising email updates and changing your contact preferences.  Note there are some emails which you may not unsubscribe from (such as message requests) and you must delete your account to stop these emails. You can also issue such a request by contacting us via the provided support email (support@collegerising.com) or by contacting certain Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partners which are sending the email.

7.7 Data Retention and Erasure. We retain your Personal Information as long as necessary for providing you the services and as per the lawful basis of processing and to comply with our legal obligations. In particular, when determining how long we retain personal data, we take into account how long we need it to:

• Maintain business records for analysis and/or audit purposes;

• Comply with record retention requirements under the law;

• Defend or bring any existing or potential legal claims; and

• Deal with any complaints regarding the Platform/any services provided on the Platform.

If you no longer want us to use your information, then you can request that we erase your Personal Information and close your Platform account. You can ask us to erase or delete all or some of your personal data (e.g., if it is no longer necessary to provide Services to you) email (support@collegerising.com) or by contacting certain Users, Members, Creators, Sponsors and Partners or other third party services which are storing your personal information

• We may retain some of your Personal Information as necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud detection and prevention and enhancing safety. For example, if we suspend a Platform account for fraud or safety reasons, we may retain certain information from that account to prevent that user from opening a new account in the future.

• We may retain and use your Personal Information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations. For example, we may keep some of your information for legal reporting and auditing obligations.

Please note that College Rising may request additional information from you to verify your identity before we disclose any personal or account information.

Where We Store Information

8.0 Where we Store Information. Our site is operated in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us may be transferred to the United States. Please also be aware that by using our site and giving us your information, you consent to such transfer. You also understand that the U.S. may not provide the same level of protections as the laws of your country.

Security

8.1 Security. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information.  These steps vary depending on the type of information we have.     

The Internet is not 100% secure, though. We cannot promise that your information will remain secure. We thus encourage you to use caution on the Internet and when disclosing information. Do not share your password with other people and select passwords that are secure.

Our Site and Children

9.0 Our site and Children. We do not knowingly permit any person who is under 13 years of age to register or to provide any other personally-identifying information. Please do not register with us if you are below 13 years of age. If we become aware that any Personal Information of persons less than 13 years of age has been collected on the Platform without verified parental consent, then we will take the appropriate steps to delete any such information.

10. Links. Our site contains links to third party sites. If you click on one of those links, you will be taken to websites we do not control. This policy does not apply to the information practices of that website. You should read the privacy policy of other websites carefully. We are not responsible for these third party sites.

11.California Residents. California law grants additional privacy rights to California residents. In particular, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) requires businesses to disclose, for the past 12 months, (i) the categories of personal information collected, (ii) the sources of the collected personal information, (iii) the purposes for which the collected personal information is used, (iv) the categories of personal information disclosed for a business purpose, and (v) the categories of any personal information sold.
